The New Jersey State Library is pleased to announce the opening of the NJYAC Book Center. This non-circulating collection consists of children's and young adult books published in the past two years.

NJSL established this collection in order to:

• Recognize the importance of children's and young adult books as both works of literature and literacy tools
• Provide a collection development resource for New Jersey librarians
• Reach out to teachers and parents who seek books for their children
• Enhance the services provided by the NJ State Libraries by providing training opportunities, especially to library school and education students and even teens studying young adult and children's literature.
• Provide a setting for class visits in which students of any age can learn more about books for children.
